Cloud Based Video Encoding System

I am currently employed by Lyrical Labs building a cloud based encoding system. Publishers install our service, upload from their dashboard, or make API calls to enter movies into our system which splits the movie into chunks and spins up workers to encoded the movie in parallel. The patent pending system is built in Amazon's cloud and, therefore, is highly scaleable and very reliable. The system uses a proprietary H.264 encoder built by Ed Ratner that saves 20-50% on bandwidth/storage costs with the same quality as the current standard encoder. read more

Social Horse Racing

Buy, raise, train, and race horses you create with horses your friends create. You can also place bets and chat as you watch the live races. As you build up your bank roll, you buy more horses and bigger stables. As you gain even more cash, you can buy tracks and even create public races from the huge selection of online horses.

Wine Making

For the past few years I have found a serious passion for drinking and making wine. Don't be fooled, I really don't know that much about it, but I've made a bunch of 6-gallon batches.

Check out my Wine Batch Log

Also, I built CheapWineLog.com to document wine tasting.
